The single biggest problem facing the world in the 21st century is Climate Change.

Nothing else threatens the very existence of mankind.

Nothing else is as expensive to fix now

- or as catastrophically expensive to fix if we do not take action soon.

ERD Associates is led by Howard Sharman

I set up ERD Associates in Autumn 2008 following completion of my MSc at University College London.  ERD's aim is to help environmental, development and renewable energy organisations with their strategy and communications needs.  ERD can call on a wide range of sector specialists and will put together tailor-made teams for individual projects.

I have worked as a journalist, editor, publisher and publishing director across the full range of business media.   As a publisher and publishing director at Centaur Media plc I had a wide range of sales and marketing experience.

I managed the company's internal and external communications at Board level and I also led on Mergers & Acquisitions, eight of which were completed in a two and a half year period.  I was a member of the management team that sold Centaur Communications, leading to its flotation as a public company on the London Stock Exchange.

The UCL course had a particular focus on the effects of climate change on the environment and my MSc dissertation focused on renewable energy and analysed the likely role of biofuels in the 21st century political economy.

I am now a Trustee of PhotoVoice (www.photovoice.org). PhotoVoice's mission is to bring about positive social change for marginalised communities through providing them with photographic training with which they can advocate, express themselves and generate income.

I am also an Affiliate Member of the Humanitarian Logistics Association.
